Choosing the Right Tech Stack in 2026

Maya ChenAugust 12, 20266 min read

Every new project starts with the same high-stakes question: what should we build it with? The tech stack you choose shapes your team's velocity, your hiring pool, and your infrastructure costs for years to come.

Rather than chasing the newest framework, we recommend evaluating three dimensions: team familiarity, ecosystem maturity, and long-term maintainability. A boring, well-supported stack usually beats a trendy one for production software.

For most web applications, we default to TypeScript across the stack, React or Next.js on the frontend, and Node.js or Go on the backend, unless client requirements or existing systems dictate otherwise.

The right stack is the one your team can operate confidently at 2am during an incident, not just the one that looks impressive in a pitch deck.
